Care guide

All our creations are made from 100% natural fibres of exceptional quality. These quality materials require delicate care.

The Esmée laundry bag

Do you know why we put each of our creations in little laundry bags?

Elisabeth, our founder, received a laundry bag from her mum that she used to spend her weeks at boarding school. Since then, she's carried it with her wherever she goes.

In Bali, where Elisabeth draws her inspiration, it has come into its own. There are no washing machines available, so you have to leave your laundry in the hands of small ‘laundries’, as they say here. These are often local people who wash and iron your clothes for a small fee. That's how we came up with the idea of including a laundry bag with every Esmée creation.

These little laundry bags are versatile. They can also be used to store socks, underwear and much more.

Linen

Taking care of linen is simple, but requires a few precautions to preserve its natural beauty. Here are a few instructions.
Washing

For ideal care of your 100% linen garments, opt for a gentle machine wash. Set the temperature to a maximum of 30°C and choose a gentle spin. Make sure you wash with similar colours to avoid fading. Avoid using fabric softener.

Drying

To dry your linen creation, hang it in the open air.

Ironing

Iron your linen inside out when it is still slightly damp. Use an iron set to a gentle temperature.
